Director F. Gary Gray makes history in the film industry with the movie “Straight Outta Compton.”
Bringing in an estimated $157.5 million in the U.S. and Canada, F. Gary Gray is now the highest-grossing black director of a single film in domestic sales.

He has just surpassed the top movies with black directors such as “Scary Movie” which earned $157 million and “Fantastic Four” which earned $154.6 million.
