A unique marriage proposal on a Houston freeway may possibly land the future groom in jail.

One man stopped tied up traffic on I-45 last weekend and the video of the proposal has gone viral, drawing heavy criticism. “I just wanted to do something different,” said Vidal Valladares (the prospective groom) A Houston Police spokeswoman confirmed that Valladares will be charged with obstruction of a highway.

If convicted, Valladares faces a maximum sentence of 6 months in jail and a $2,000 fine. The HPD spokesperson stated the charge is being processed through the Harris County court system.
