Ice Cube Reacts to Straight Outta Compton Snub by the Academy

As this year’s Oscar nomination list was being announced, one summer box office smash was surprisingly left off the list.
Fans expected to see multiple nominations for Straight Outta Compton, the N.W.A. biopic produced by Ice Cube, only had one nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Cube was in New York and TMZ.com, asked the actor/emcee what he thought about not getting more nods from the Academy.
“We ain’t worried about it,” replied to TMZ. “We good, though.”
Straight Outta Compton marks the highest-grossing film by a Black director of all time. Ice Cube next project will be in Ride Along 2, which is set to arrive in theaters tomorrow (January 15).
