A Message To The Dead Beat Dad: You Are Missing Out

I have an axe to grind with the men who are purposely inactive in their child’s life. You are not only destroying your kids lives, but you are ruining America as well. You are doing nothing but leaving a path of destruction in your wake with every missed birthday, field trip and soccer game.
By not showing up or paying up your kid is being taught something whether you know it or not. They are learning how to lack commitment. They are learning that quitting is acceptable and it’s normal to avoid responsibility.
What you are missing out on is the joy on their face and abundant enthusiasm when daddy comes home after work. They scream with exuberance at your very presence (when they are young) because you represent stability and protection. There is nothing like it.
Maybe you should try it sometime.
