Comedian, actor, producer and talk show host George Lopez came into the studio to chat with Ed Lover and Monie Love! George talked about his decision to play a father more grounded in reality on the “The George Lopez Show,” as opposed to a more idealized version, which typically can be found on sit-coms. He also discussed how he successfully made the often difficult transition from stand-up comedy to situation comedy on television. He says he learned from watching a comedian do the same thing, but making a choice that ultimately hurt his career.

He explains why he’s never ditched stand-up for television, saying that stand-up has always been “the invisible friend,” especially as an only child. Click on the audio player to hear more in this exclusive interview on the “Ed Lover Show.”
