Nelly’s Fans Hold Streaming Party to Pay IRS Debt

Nelly fans launches a campaign with the hope of helping the rapper pay off his $2.4 million tax debt.
They’ve dubbed the #HotInHerreStreamingParty on Twitter, the St. Louis emcee (real name Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr.) is facing a lien which stemmed from unpaid taxes in 2013. If he doesn’t come up with the money soon, the IRS could seize his assets and property, Billboard reports.
Since September fans have been rallying around Nelly to continually stream “Hot In Herre” all day and night, in an effort to get enough royalties to raise the cash he needs to pay off the IRS debt. It would take a ton of streams and plays to get the full payment but fans continue to rally behind Nelly with one stream after another

Nelly has also revealed that he is in the lab working on some new material.
