New audio recordings of the late R&B superstar Aaliyah will be released soon.
According to a Vibe magazine interview with singer and song writer T-Pain, a new mixtape will feature unheard vocals from the late Virginia R&B star.
“We got Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Young Cash from Nappy Boy [Entertainment], Shawn J from Field Mob — I actually have Aaliyah on a song, I got an Aaliyah feature,” T-Pain says. “These are vocals people [have] never heard before. They were actually doing an Aaliyah album a few years ago and they told me do two songs and I could pick one to keep. I’ve just been kind of holding that one in the vault and once this mixtape came up I was like, ‘This is the time I need to record my verse and my vocals and slam it on this mixtape.’ It’s a slower song. It’s not a ballad. It’s called ‘Girlfriends.’
