Rapper and actor Nelly addresses the recent arrest in Tennessee over the weekend.

Reiterating the case his lawyer is arguing, Nelly suggests that the drugs found on the tour bus weren’t his.

I feel the need to take responsibility for my choices in needing to be more aware of all the people I associate with and allow onto my property,” Nelly told TMZ.

In an Instagram post, Nelly took responsibility for the arrest in a statement.

According to a media release from the Tennessee Department Of Safety And Homeland Security, Trooper Michael Loftis and Tennessee Highway Patrol Sgt. Donald Jennings revealed five rocks which “tested positive for methamphetamine.”

Nelly’s lawyer issued the following statement to Billboard following his arrest:

Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee,” lawyer Scott Rosenblum says. “In fact, there had been 15-20 people that had access to the bus prior to the stop. Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband (MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy) was discovered during the routine search. We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered.”

Nelly was released from Tennessee’s Putnam County jail on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 19.
