The Bayou City is getting ready to host its fourth Final Four!

The NCAA announced on Monday that the 2023 Final Four would be returning to Houston’s NRG Stadium after successful hosting stints in 2016 and 2011. The 1971 Final Four was hosted at the Astrodome.

“Houston’s on a roll. We are part of the winning 2026 World Cup bid, we landed 2024 college football playoffs and we just successfully hosted the 2016 Final Four & Super Bowl LI. This proves we know how to host multiple big events in succession,” Harris County Houston Sports Authority CEO Janis Burke said.

The Final Four committee said improvements and developments to the downtown area were a significant reason for choosing Houston again.

“If you can dream it, you can make it happen. We asked for the Final Four to come in 2023 and that’s exactly what we got. No one can put on big events like the city of Houston!” Mayor Sylvester Turner said.
